An all-in-one aviation solution for the ASECNA
After the PUMA 2015 contract through which MFI is providing autonomous forecasting systems to 47 African countries in order for them to receive, process and display data from the EUMETCast dataflow, MFI is reinforcing its presence on the African continent.
Indeed, MFI has just been awarded a full project by the ASECNA (Agency for Aviation Safety in Africa and Madagascar) to implement an exclusive automated nowcasting and briefing solution in 30 main or secondary airports across 17 countries. The project also includes the equipment of ASECNA's headquarters in Dakar and of the EAMAC (Ecole Africaine de la Météorologie et de l'Aviation Civile) in Niamey, Niger.
Fully web-based, the solution conceived by MFI's teams includes the following components: Synergie-Web, Transmet-Web, AerometWeb and Archipel.
It will allow:
> Aviation forecasting and nowcasting.
> TAF production and control.
> Pilot briefing.
The project is expected to go on for 36 months and will require real logistic skills in order to coordinate the implementation of the systems in more than 30 sites. It is also a significant transfer of knowledge challenge as more than 150 people will have to be trained to use the new equipment properly.
